Gama Aviation has delivered an Airbus ACJ319 to a undisclosed client in China.

The company carried out a full acceptance programme on behalf of its client, before delivering the aircraft to its home airport.

“Demand for business aviation in China continues to grow – especially for aircraft capable of carrying out intercontinental journeys.”

Marwan Khalek, CEO of Gama Aviation said: “Demand for business aviation in China continues to grow – especially for aircraft capable of carrying out intercontinental journeys. China currently represents over a third (34%) of the region’s heavy jet and jet airliner business jet fleet with 396 aircraft and we expect this proportion to grow as the country continues to increase its business links with the west.”

Gama Aviation’s analysis of the Asia Pacific business aircraft fleet reveals a strong preference for larger, longer-range aircraft such as the A319. Indeed, over a quarter (26%) of Asia Pacific’s business aircraft fleet comprises either heavy jets or jet airliners, while 58% of China’s fleet is made up of larger aircraft. Furthermore, China’s share of the continent’s larger jet market is increasing, with half of all deliveries of heavy jets and jet airliners to Asia Pacific between 2010 and 2014 going to China.

Gama Aviation currently operates more than 145 aircraft across five continents, including a joint venture with Hutchison Whampoa (China) Limited – Gama Hutchison – which is based in Hong Kong.
