Each of us has a Dream, bigger or smaller, but it's a human nature, to dream. In fact, there is a very constructive way of dreaming - to move step by step forward to reach your Dream. Along the way you risk to make mistakes, but also you will have a rewarding experience, receiving support, sometimes very important from big companies.
That's the case with U-Dream Build a plane initiative, founded by Megan Werner. What it is? What's about? Who she is? Megan is a teen pilot, author and motivational speaker. Her passion to make a difference founded U-Dream Global to inspire her peers to follow their dreams. That is when she came up with the idea to build a plane and fly it across Africa and in so doing inspire teenagers to set huge goals and dreams and then equip them to achieve those dreams.
The first phase of the programme was to build the aircraft.
A group of high school students were invited to participate in a competition where the top 20 finalists were selected to build a Sling 4 aeroplane during the June/July 2018 school holidays. The Sling 4 building project commenced from 22nd June until 16th July 2018 by the top 20 finalists.

The second phase of the programme is to fly the aircraft from Cape Town, South Africa to Cairo, Egypt.
Now Megan and her team of young pilots are ready to embark on the Cape to Cairo flight. The maiden flight for the Sling 4 took place on 8th June 2019 at Tedderfield Air Park in Eikenhof, South Africa.
The departure of the Sling 4 took place on Saturday, 15th June 2019 from Cape Town. Abel Dlamini, a pilot from ExecuJet is part of the crew and will fly in the Sling from Cape Town as far as Windhoek, Namibia.
A press conference was held on Friday 14th June 2019 at the ExecuJet Cape Town facility prior to the planned departure.
