Air Europa, the Spanish airline, has trusted Sabena technics to perform base maintenance operations on two of their Boeing 787-8. The first aircraft has left the MRO’s facility on-time after a successful C-Check.
The second aircraft is already at Sabena technics’ premises in Bordeaux (France).
“ Our teams handled this project with great enthusiasm, hard work and dedication and made sure to put safety and quality first! We are thrilled to have Air Europa as our launching customer for base maintenance checks on the Dreamliner aircraft and look forward to increasing our B787 capability ”.
said Philippe Rochet, CEO of Sabena technics.
For the past two years, Sabena technics has also been providing Air Europa with airframe solutions for their fleet of A330s.
“ We at Air Europa are greatly impressed with Sabena technics’ performance completing this first B787 C-check on time. A fluent co-operation between both our teams has also contributed to reach this goal. We remain fully confident with Sabena technics for future projects”.
said Alberto Lines, Maintenance & Engineering Director of Air Europa.
Anticipating the increase of long range wide-body aircraft in Europe and the need to get more capacity to support its customers, Sabena technics will also be opening in January 2020 its brand new 10 000 sqm hangar in Bordeaux. The facility will be able to accommodate, in maintenance or modifications activities, a long-range wide-body aircraft up to A350-1000/B777-9X or up to two B787 simultaneously.
This new asset will bring more flexibility as Sabena technics is offering long term agreements to its customers in order to secure slots and guarantee availability of resources in advance.
