Lufthansa Technik and Cebu Pacific extend their partnership: Starting in October, Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen will provide Airframe Related Components services for the Airbus A320ceo and A321ceo fleets of Cebu Pacific, one of the leading low-cost carriers in the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement, signed this Wednesday at MRO Asia-Pacific, specifically covers MRO, and spare unit support for engine nacelle components including inlet and fan cowling, thrust reverser, and nozzle. For such aircraft components mostly made of composite materials, LTS provides state-of-the-art repair technology. The subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, located at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, moreover provides services for other components in various systems.
Cebu Pacific and Lufthansa Technik are already cooperating closely across a range of areas. Since early this year, the MRO provider has been performing Engine Maintenance Services for the CFM56-5B engines that power the A320ceo and A321ceo fleets of the Manila-based airline. The two companies also collaborate on Cyclean Engine Wash and Aircraft Transition Services. Furthermore, Cebu Pacific is currently in partnership with Lufthansa Technik Philippines in Manila for Base Maintenance Services on aircraft of the Airbus A320 Family.
Shevantha Weerasekera, Cebu Pacific's Vice President of Engineering and Fleet Management commented: “The contract signed today at MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore is a strong testament to Cebu Pacific’s long-standing collaboration with Lufthansa Technik, and it reflects our complete confidence in their expertise. Cebu Pacific is committed to providing our passengers with safe, accessible, and affordable air travel, and our continuous partnership with Lufthansa Technik allows us to fulfill this objective.”
Dennis Kohr, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Asia-Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, stated: “A big thanks goes out to Cebu Pacific for choosing us – once again – as their trusted partner. Our valued customer will benefit from our global MRO operations with a strong local footprint in Asia-Pacific. We are committed to continue delivering exceptional support and look forward to expanding our already strong partnership with Cebu Pacific through this new agreement.”
