Rotortrade has finalized the sale of a 2014 Bell 429 VIP helicopter (MSN 57241) to PT Whitesky Aviation in Indonesia. Originally acquired in China in 2015, the aircraft had accumulated just 380 flight hours due to slower-than-expected regulatory liberalization in the region. As part of its strategy of acquiring underutilized assets, restoring them to optimal condition, and redeploying them where operational demand is stronger, the helicopter was repositioned for use in Indonesia’s growing VIP transport sector, acquired by PT Whitesky Aviation.

Aurélien Blanc, Head of Region APAC at Rotortrade commented:“This sale reflects our ability to identify underutilized assets and redeploy them efficiently to markets with real operational needs. Indonesia remains a key focus for Rotortrade, and we are pleased to support PT Whitesky Aviation as they continue to expand their premium service offering."

Whitesky Aviation CEO, Denon Prawiraatmadja stated: “The acquisition of the Bell 429 marks a strategic enhancement of our VIP fleet and reinforces our commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and premium helicopter services across Indonesia. We appreciate the professionalism and responsiveness of all parties involved in this cross-border transaction. This addition strengthens our operational readiness and our vision to connect more regions with elevated standards of service.”

Angelo Guarnera added: “The successful completion of this deal is the result of close collaboration and trust between all parties involved. We are proud to support PT Whitesky Aviation in expanding their VIP offering and to contribute to the ongoing development of the Indonesian helicopter market.”

This transaction marks the first pre-owned helicopter sale completed in Indonesia in 2025, amid a period of economic stagnation and limited market activity in 2024.Rotortrade had made the inventory acquisition of the helicopter in 2023, providing certainty and taking full responsibility in the resell transaction. The deal with PT Whitesky was initiated in December 2024 and closed in April 2025, with delivery and reassembly completed the same month. The helicopter entered service in May 2025 following local registration.
The transaction was led by Angelo Guarnera, Rotortrade’s Sales Manager for Indonesia and the Philippines, with technical oversight managed by Rotortrade APAC Team.

The deal also included tailored payment terms to accommodate Indonesia’s evolving financial regulations and the operator’s capital requirements. The aircraft was shipped by sea and arrived within 20 days, completing a smooth logistics process. This transaction reinforces Rotortrade’s continued activity in Indonesia and its role in enabling efficient fleet redeployment across emerging markets.”
