Rizhao Shanzihe Airport  (RIZ), a new regional airport in east China's Shandong province, will commence operation from November. This will be the 4th coastal city airport that China Eastern Airlines (MU) serves in Shandong province.

In the initial stage, Rizhao airport plans air routes to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Dalian this year. In 2016, more flights will link Rizhao with other domestic cities like Chengdu, Xi'an, Taiyuan, Jinan and Harbin. Two international and regional services from Rizhao to Seoul and Taipei are also expected to be launched next year.

The Rizhao-Dalian and Rizhao-Shanghai Pudong flights will operate daily.
