Nok Air Flight DD7805, travelling from Nakhon Si Thammarat to Don Mueang with more than 200 passengers and crew on board, made an emergency landing at Surat Thani airport on Sunday morning after hitting a large bird, Thairath Online reported.

The aircraft departed from Nakhon Si Thammarat airport at 7:40 a.m.

About 20 minutes after departure, the captain of the flight announced that there was a technical problem because the plane had hit a bird.

For safety reasons, the captain said he would make an emergency landing at Surat Thani airport so that the aircraft could be inspected by a Nok Air technical team from Bangkok.

After landing safely at Surat Thani, the passengers were moved to the airport's passenger lounge.

The safety inspection was expected to take two to three hours after the team arrived from Bangkok.
