Guilin Liangjiang International Airport (KWL) has gradually resumed services toward South Korea with the effective control of MERS break, to meet travelers' tourism tide in August.

China Eastern Airlines (MU) has resumed its twice-weekly Guilin-Seoul service earlier this month. The Seoul-bound flight MU2015 is scheduled to take off from Guilin at 0:40 a.m. and land in Seoul at 5:55 a.m., with the return flight MU2016 leaving Seoul at 9:40 p.m. and reaching Guilin at 0:10 a.m. the next day.

South Korea's Asiana Airlines (OZ) plans to increase the currently twice-weekly Guilin-Seoul service to daily next month.

From January to July this year, Guilin Airport has handled 511 aircraft movements and 70,354 passengers to South Korea's Seoul, Pusan, Jeju and Cheongju, up 27.4% and 21.3% respectively year on year. The passenger number from Guilin to South Korea would have seen a sharp increase if it was not for the MERS outbreak and spread in the country.

It's estimated that flights from Guilin to other cities in South Korea will resume fully next month.
