In September 2022 Diamond Aircraft Austria successfully handed over a DA62 MPP demonstrator to Asian Aerospace Services (AAS), a Diamond Aircraft distributor based in Thailand. This is an important step for the company to demonstrate the capabilities of its flagship special mission aircraft to potential customers in this region.

Benjamin Schuhmann, Sales Manager APCA & ME Diamond Aircraft Austria Special Mission Aircraft Division, commented: “Thailand always has been a key market with one of the biggest MPP customers. Having a DA62 MPP demonstrator on-site will help to strengthen our footprint in the Southeast Asian market even more and to better promote the DA62 MPP. Together with AAS, we have a strong long-term partner with many years of knowledge in operating and selling of Diamond Special Mission Aircraft.”

Asian Aerospace Services’ DA62 MPP demonstrator will be fitted in a changeable configuration for flight inspection, survey/mapping and law enforcement operations to enhance its demonstration capabilities according to potential customers’ needs.

Hubert Trunzer, MD of Asian Aerospace Services Ltd said: “With our more than ten years of extensive knowledge and experience in operating Diamond Aircraft MPP in tropical environment, we provide customers a unique consulting experience for special mission aircraft configuration tailored to their needs. And now Southeast Asian customers additionally have the possibility to book private demonstrations of our all-new DA62 MPP.”

Markus Fischer, Director Diamond Aircraft Austria Special Mission Aircraft Division: “There is no question about how important the Southeast Asia market is for our Special Mission Aircraft division. We are very proud and honored to have a strong partner for our Special Mission Aircraft for Thailand and other special projects. Our cooperation with AAS, using this aircraft for Diamond Aircraft’s direct customers is an additional strong sales tool. We are very much looking forward to this new possibility of promoting the latest generation of our DA62 MPP in the market.”

The DA62 MPP is the latest variant of Diamond Aircraft’s successful Special Mission Aircraft portfolio. The all-carbon-fibre, twin-engine aircraft is equipped with a state-of-the-art glass cockpit and a fully integrated autopilot. It is powered by two turbo charged jet-fuel engines which enable the aircraft to stay airborne for up to eight hours due to their superb fuel efficiency. The carbon fibre material provides for unlimited airframe life and is not subject to corrosion, even when operated in saline and humid environments. Together, fuel efficiency and the unlimited airframe life combine for extremely low direct operating costs, making the DA62 MPP the most cost-efficient Special Mission Aircraft in its class.
