Gama Aviation partners with CAE to expand training

Gama Aviation has signed a partnership agreement with CAE. The agreement will address the new interpretation of EASA Part-FCL requirements regarding base training.

Gama Aviation has established its own Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Approved Training Organisation (ATO) to meet CAA requirements that state that “the base training is part of the approved Type Rating course…it must be completed under the control of an ATO.”

Gama Aviation launched its ATO to meet the needs of its own roster of more than 450 pilots. The company will also be extending the service to other operators in due course.

One benefit of the new partnership is that Gama can provide candidates with access to up to 30 different aircraft types. The new interpretation of the regulations came into effect on 30 June 2015 and Gama and CAE have already certified over 50 pilots.

The agreement between the two companies builds on a long standing relationship under which CAE provided Type Rating simulator training for Gama Aviation’s pilots.

Gama Aviation has operations in 45 different locations in 17 countries across five continents. Its services include: line and base maintenance; FBO services; engineering design; aircraft management; charter operations; and aviation and ground management systems.
