Sichuan Airlines Launches Direct Routes from Tokyo and Osaka to Chengdu

On January 18 and 19, Sichuan Airlines (SCAL) successively launched direct routes from Tokyo to Chengdu and from Osaka to Chengdu.

There are total four flights from Tokyo to Chengdu each week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday). Departure of outbound flight 3U8086 is 20:30 Tokyo time, arriving in Chengdu at 00:50 (+1). Departure of inbound flight 3U8085 is 13:20 from Chengdu, arriving in Tokyo at 19:00 local time.

There are total three flights from Osaka to Chengdu each week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Departure of outbound flight 3U8088 is 20:25 from Osaka, arriving in Chengdu at 00:15 (+1). Departure of inbound flight 3U8087 is 13:45 from Chengdu, arriving in Osaka at 18:55 local time. Both these routes are operated with dual-lane wide-body Airbus A330 passenger aircraft.

Sichuan, which is located in the Southwest of China, is also known as “The Land of Abundance” and is home to the giant panda. The province has a rich and ancient cultural history, with beautiful landscapes including the Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historical Interest Area, Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area, Du Jiangyan Irrigation System, Qingcheng Mountain, Leshan Grand Buddha, E-Mei Mountain, and Wuhou Shrine.

Japanese passengers can now fly direct from Tokyo and Osaka to Chengdu and experience the beautiful scenery and delicious cuisine of Sichuan. Connecting flights to other popular local destinations such as Jiuzhaigou Village or Lhasa are also available.
