Estonian Air (OV, Tallinn Lennart Meri) took delivery of its maiden CRJ-700  on October 2. The exLufthansa CityLine (CL, Munich) machine ES-ACF (cn 10083) was ferried from Ljubljana, where it had been in storage, to Tallinn Lennart Meri. A second of the type is expected to arrive later this week with both aircraft on two year-long leases.

Estonian is using the Bombardier jets to replace its fleet of four EMB-170s which are in the process of being returned to lessor Finnair .

“The plan is to operate altogether with 5-6 CRJ-900 and CRJ700 regional jet aircraft on routes to/from Tallinn, and one smaller turboprop on Tallinn - Stockholm Bromma route from March next year. On top of that we hope to operate with another 2-4 CRJ regional jet aircraft as capacity providers to other companies,” Jan Palmér, CEO of Estonian Air, said.
